Hugh Wesley Grigg

    Hugh Wesley Grigg, age 83, of Lawndale, NC, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at the Wendover Hospice House.

    Hugh was born Monday, April 7, 1941, in Cleveland County to the late Burgan Grigg and Elizabeth Woods Grigg. He loved playing golf, baseball, and his church family. Hugh was an avid Dodgers fan. He was a member of Mulls Memorial Baptist Church. Hugh was a caring man who loved his family and will be missed by all that knew him.

    In addition to his family, he was preceded in death by his wife of sixty years, Nancy Grigg, two brothers, Billy and Boyd Grigg, and a sister, Evelyn Newton.

   Those left to cherish his memory include a daughter, Sharon Champion and husband Mark, son, Wesley Grigg and wife, Billie; brothers, Garland Grigg and wife, Nancy, Carmie Grigg and wife, Dorothy, Hayward Grigg and wife, Ella Mae; grandchildren, Josh Champion and wife Tori, Heather Houser and husband, John, Amy Williams and husband Mitchell, Grayson Grigg and Caroline Grigg; and eight great grandchildren. 

    A celebration of life service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 21st at the Mulls Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Black officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 am at the church.

    Memorial donations are requested to Wendover Hospice House, 953 Wendover Heights Dr, Shelby, NC 28150.
